What You Need To Know

If you feel you are in danger:
  • Trust your instincts: if you feel uneasy or uncomnfortable, get out
  • Don't be embarrassed or scared to "make a scene" if you are assaulted 
  • Assess the situation first, then react; Do whatever you believe is necessary to keep yourself safe
  • Remember as much as you can about the assailant: this information may be of value to the authorities
  • Get to a safe place
After an assault:
  • Call 911
  • Preserve evidence: avoid washing, brushing, bathing, or douching
  • Remember: You are not at fault. No one asks for or deserves to be assaulted
